Heart of Worship

Scripture: Mark 15:33-39

In Mark 15, we see the culmination of Jesus' sacrifice and the depth of His love for us. The darkness that enveloped the land during His crucifixion signifies the weight of sin and separation from God. Yet, in the throes of immense suffering, Jesus ensures that our relationship with God is never severed. This act of love beckons us to respond with gratefulness. Our journey of faith requires us to evaluate what holds the highest place in our lives. Are we putting our desires, fears, or ambitions on the throne instead of God? To find the unstoppable version of ourselves, we must consistently assess where our devotion lies. Each act of love we show to God—through worship, obedience, and service—draws us closer to His heart.

Reflection: Take a moment today to consider whether God truly sits on the throne of your heart. What distractions might be taking His place? Reflect on the love and sacrifice that Jesus demonstrated. How can you express your love for Him more deeply today?

Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank You for the immense love You showed through Jesus’ sacrifice. Help me to center my life around You and place You on the throne of my heart. Guide me to grow in my love for You with each passing day. Open my eyes to the distractions that pull me away. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
