Passion: The Difference Maker
“ Passion: The Difference Maker”
Its been said, “ One person with passion is greater than 99 who have a general interest.” Behind all great art, music, literature, business, and church is passion. Passion mobilizes people to the work, to be motivated to do something great. Paul’s passion was to know Christ. Philippians 3:10,13,14-“… that I may know Him…one thing I do forgetting what lies behind, and straining forward to what lies ahead. I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of Christ Jesus.” Mark 12:30 tells us “to love God with all our passion.” Are you passionate?
What are the characteristics of a passionate person?
1. Goal oriented
2. Self starter
3. Positive attitude
4. Gives 100%
5. Strives for excellence
6. Accepts responsibility
7. Is sacrificial
How do you develop passion?
1. Find your purpose in life. Without it you are on a ship going to no where.
2. Know your purpose makes a difference. If its not going to make a difference, its probably the wrong passion.
3. Begin to pay the price for accomplishing that purpose. Jesus said, where your treasure is (money, time, energy) , there your heart will be also.
4. Let the presence of God in your life fuel the passion. Like Paul have your first passion be Christ. Everything else will flow from that.
