Be Brave: God Stands by His Own
“There was a great uproar, and some of the teachers of the law who were Pharisees stood up and argued vigorously. ‘We find nothing wrong with this man,’ they said. ‘What if a spirit or an angel has spoken to him?’ The dispute became so violent that the commander was afraid Paul would be torn to pieces by them. He ordered the troops to go down and take him away from them by force and bring him into the barracks. The following night the Lord stood near Paul and said, ‘Take courage! As you have testified about me in Jerusalem, so you must also testify in Rome.’" - Acts 23:9-11
Paul is experiencing great spiritual warfare. Often Satan uses people in his quest to discourage and even destroy the people of God. Ironically, most of those involved in this endeavor believe they are doing the Lord’s work. Such was the case of the forty who wanted to take Paul’s life. However, God had other plans. Paul would eventually be sent to preach the gospel to Rome. God came to Paul’s rescue and protected his life until his work was finished. God stands by you. As long as you are in His will, nothing can happen to you unless God wills it to happen. …being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ…Philippians 1:6. Get in God’s will. It’s the safest place on earth.
