Leaders See the Big Picture
In order to motivate a team to do great things, the leader must see the big picture and lead others to see that picture. To accomplish this ask yourself 3 questions:
1. Where are you now?
a. Who are you as an organization?
b. What is the truth on where you are today?
For example as a church:
1. What is your actual attendance? Your financial situation? The direction you have been going? ( growth or decline?)
2. What ministries are working? Which ones are not?
3. Why have you made the decisions you have made?--
Growth? Evangelism? Convenience/ to please a certain leader or group of people?
4. What resources do you have to move forward?
5. What is the one thing that you could change that would make the biggest difference in the church?
2. Where are you going?
1. This speaks to vision.
2. What is your burden, your calling as an organization?
3. What is stopping you from reaching that goal?
4. The answer to the above question is your vision.
5. The leader needs to see it and then persuade others to see it as well.
(For an example, Read the book of Nehemiah )
3. Who are the right people to move forward?-
The right people around you who can catch the vision and help you reach it. (See last week's lesson)
