The Joy of Access to God

In John 16:23-24, “In that day you will ask nothing of me. Truly, truly, I say to you, whatever you ask of the Father in my name, he will give it to you. Until now you have asked nothing in my name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full,” Jesus makes a profound promise: we can now ask the Father directly in His name, and He will give it to us. This access to God was made possible by Jesus' sacrifice and the sending of the Holy Spirit. No longer do we have to rely on others to speak to God on our behalf; we can go to Him
directly.

This access brings great joy because we no longer need to wonder if God hears us. We can come to Him confidently, knowing that He is listening and ready to respond.

Reflection: How does the idea of direct access to God through prayer affect your relationship with Him? Do you approach God with confidence or hesitation?

Prayer:

Father, thank You for making a way for me to come directly to You through Jesus. Help me to come boldly and confidently to Your throne of grace, knowing You hear me. Amen.
