God’s Character Anchors Our Trust
Reading: Mark 11:12-14
Devotional: God’s character is the anchor of our trust. When life’s uncertainties press in, it’s easy to rely on our own strength or understanding. Yet, true dependence begins by remembering who God is—faithful, loving, and sovereign. Trusting God’s character means resting in His unchanging nature, even when circumstances seem unclear.
Dependence on God is not about passivity but about active surrender. It’s choosing to believe that God’s promises are true because He cannot lie. His goodness and wisdom far exceed our own, and He works all things for our good. When we trust Him, we release the burden of control and step into peace.
Consider the times God has been faithful in your life. Those moments are evidence of His character. Reflect on His promises in Scripture—He will never leave you nor forsake you (Hebrews 13:5), He works all things together for good (Romans 8:28), and His plans are to prosper you and not to harm you (Jeremiah 29:11). These truths form the foundation of dependence.
When doubts arise, remind yourself: God’s character is the reason to trust, not your feelings or circumstances. Dependence means leaning on His strength, not your own. It means saying, “I don’t have all the answers, but I trust the One who does.” This trust transforms fear into faith and uncertainty into hope.
Let today be a day to deepen your dependence on God by meditating on His character. Write down His promises, recall His faithfulness, and choose to trust Him anew. Your peace and confidence grow as you anchor your heart in who God is.
