Surrender Control, Find Peace
Reading: Matthew 6: 25-34
Devotional: Spiritual vertigo often stems from trying to control what lies beyond us. When we release our grip on the future, we open our hearts to God’s peace and direction.
Paul encourages believers in Philippians 4:6-7 not to be anxious but to present every request to God with thanksgiving. The result is a peace beyond human understanding guarding our hearts and minds. This peace is available only when we live in the present, trusting God’s sovereignty.
As Jesus demonstrates in Matthew’s gospel, surrendering control doesn’t mean passivity; it means active trust. It means choosing to pray instead of worry, to listen instead of rush, and to obey instead of resist. This posture transforms spiritual vertigo into spiritual clarity.
Consider areas in your life where you are holding on too tightly. What would it look like to surrender those worries to God right now? Invite Him to replace your anxiety with His peace. As you do, you will find your spiritual balance restored, and your vision sharpened for the journey ahead.
