does God Want you to be Successful?
Does God Want you to be Successful?”
Everyone wants to be successful. Whether its career, church, marriage, parenting, etc., we all want to succeed. However today In spiritual circles, the term “success” often has negative connotations. Yet the Bible speaks of God wanting our success.
‘He ( godly person) is like a tree planted by streams of water that yields its fruit in its season, and its leaf does not wither. In all that he does, he prospers” Psalm 1:3
“This book of the law shall no t depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it. for then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have success.” Joshua 1:8
The New Testament calls success fruitfulness. (John 15: 4,5)
But how do we biblically define success? I think it is simply “finding out what God wants us to do and do it with all our heart.
As we open the new year, we look to get a new start, to begin again. How do we position ourselves for success in our future? As I read the Scriptures, looking at the lives of Joseph, Moses, Paul and others, I see 7 principles that lead us to this future.
1) Purpose- Why are you here?
2) Preparation- Getting ready is essential to success.
3) Practice- You need to move forward and work the plan.
4) Passion-A heart for the work
5) People- No one is successful alone
6) Power- The ability to accomplish the task
7) Persistence- The tenacity to finish
Over the next 7 lessons we will take a look at each one of these principles. I hope you
will join us.
